At last, Maria Corina Machado – Nobel Peace Prize winner, arrived in Oslo to celebrate the ceremony of 2025 Nobel Peace Laurette.

Democracy is what allows nations to handle conflict without violence. It turns fear into participation and power into responsibility. Democracy is the path to peace. Ms. Machado is one of the most extraordinary examples of civilian courage in recent Latin American history.

At her first press conference, Ms. Machado said: ‘I think my delay that God has its ways. My words couldn’t have been better expressed by someone of a generation that did not know about democracy or lived in freedom, but they have learned from their fathers, mothers and grandparents what it requires. These hard children are willing to give their life for something they have never known. That makes me convinced that we have the best generation of Venezuelans ever, ready to finish our job, not only to liberate our country but to build a nation with strong ethical pillars to represent the new democratic institution for centuries to come. Her presence reminds us of that hope, courage and love can outlast the passion.
