Pope Leo XIV: Peace be with you

Pope Leo XIV ‘s First Year:  A Pontificate marked by Peace, Tradition and Augustinian Spirit.  It is his wish to tell the world that it is possible to build peace that is ‘a peace requires new attitude: A Culture of Peace’.  This wish requires concrete action that needs courage of all peoples of every religion and every race to produce a new live together peacefully as laid in church’ great mission and rooted in Catholic Church social doctrine principles.

Pope Leo made clear the Peace’ vision from his very first meeting and audiences after his election – that to make peace prevails.  The Holy See is always ready to help bring enemies sit in the same negotiation table, to find its peace dignity solution to benefit all parties in conflict.  Pope Leo has repeatedly emphasized, peace is not merely absence of war, but something that must be actively and concretely built.

Prof. Vincenzo Buonomo – Director of the Pontifical Urban University and scientific director of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy that trains so-called Vatican diplomats emphasized that the Church promotes peace not as a political project but because peace is embedded in every message of the gospel where the church is a message’ bearer that is foundational.  On the other hand, through grace in the sacrament, it is directed toward the salvation of souls.

Prof. Giulio Alfano – Deputy Director of Peace Sciences at the Pontifical Lateran University: The phrase peace be with you has become something of the light motif of this journey of these visits.  He is a Pope who wants to bring not only the message of peace but also the path that the church offers for making peace a reality at an extraordinarily difficult moment. Because we are living through a time of profound crisis, peace seems almost impossible to recover.

Peace commitment in a form of academic program was concretely laid down by Pope Francis in 2018, at Pontifical Lateran University, Rome – Italy.  This great mission reflects Holy See’s long-standing mission to help build a more just and peaceful world.
