Street Child World Cup 2026 | Mexico City

The Street Child World Cup is presented by Bank of America with football as a platform to change the way the world sees and treats street-connected children.  The mission is bringing young people together to compete ahead of the world’s biggest tournaments. Importantly, not only to compete but to create and demand their rights – declaring to the world that I am somebody, you are somebody, every young person is somebody.

This global initiative started from Durban, South Africa in 2010 and have travelled to Rio de Janeiro – Brazil in 2014, Moscow – Russia in 2018, Doha – Qatar in 2022, Chennai – India in 2023.

The Street Child World Cup 2026 took place in Mexico City from 6 to 14 May 2026 bringing street-connected children and youth over 21 countries.  The tournament, hosted by Street Child United in partnership with Fútbol Más Mexico, took place at the Parque Ecológico Lago de Texcoco.  The event featured street-connected young people competing for glory while advocating for children’s rights.  The finals provided an unforgettable cultural moment, highlighted by a ceremonial coin toss performed by U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and a live performance by artist Paul Russell.

We join the joy and happiness of Indonesia team – Garuda Baru, crowned as first ever Boy’s Shield Championship in a dramatic final after a penalty shootout over Argentina. The Mexico team as winner for Girls Cup and the Brazil team for Boys Cup.  Congratulations …
