Bornean OrangUtan is known as the greatest apes who is human closest living relatives. This species has been studied scientifically by WWF and IUCN for quite long time. This greatest ape is ever crowned as one of WWF brand ambassadors.
The fact says by now the OrangUtan is categorized as Endangered Species — only 104,700 mature individuals remain in wild of the range of Indonesia and Malaysia; with ecology of height: 120 – 170 cm, weight: 50 – 100 kg, with lifespan of 35 to 50 years. These intelligent great apes spend most of their lives in the rainforest canopy, helping maintain healthy ecosystems by dispersing seeds as they move through the forest. Sadly, their population continues to decline due to deforestation, habitat loss, forest fires, illegal hunting, and wildlife trade.
Today on 2026 World OrangUtan Day, Tisande joins WWF, IUCN and UNEP to speak to the world that protecting OrangUtans means protecting one of the world’s most important rainforest ecosystems.
Happy World Orangutan Day 2026 …
