June 10, 2026 – 100 years after Antoni Gaudi, the architect of this masterpiece returned home to heaven — the main tower of Jesus Christ – the central tower of Sagrada Familia is finished and inaugurated by Pope Leo XIV; marking by a spectacular festival of lights and fireworks. The Tower of Jesus Christ is now rising to 172.5 meters above Barcelona and named as the tallest worldwide. Gaudi’s passions in life, architecture , nature and religion goes perfectly with his motto in his efforts finishing the project –‘the client is God and God is not in a hurry’, it took 144 years to reach the completion. This project is as an on-going architectural project study that get global admiration and is on of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Antoni Gaudi considered every detail of his creations and combines crafts such as ceramics, stained glass, wrought ironwork forging and carpentry as well introduced new techniques in materials’ treatment called trencadis, a technique uses waste ceramic pieces. Sagrada Familia is influenced by neo-Gothic art and oriental techniques driven into a unique style inspired by natural forms.
