Thursday, 20 August 2026 during a White House Rose Garden event — First Lady Melania Trump announced a new initiative — “Fostering the Future” — the generational investment in America’s talent pipeline. It is an initiative to elevate America’s youth based on merit and lifting them beyond economic circumstance and every other condition that may limit the opportunity. The mission is clear and transformational that is to provide every young person from the foster care community the chance to earn a college education, launch a meaningful career and achieve lasting financial independence.
This initiative is a collaborative project of the White House — partnering with IndyCar, Fox Corporation, Indiana University and Purdue University to provide scholarships, and expand academic and career opportunities for those in foster care to build bright futures. This is the pathway for the incredible students.
This announcement comes as the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix race sets to take place in Washington, D.C. this weekend, 22-23 August 2026.
