2022 Nobel Peace Prize

The 2022 Peace Prize is awarded to:

  1. Ales Bialiatski – Belarus human rights advocate
  2. “Memorial”: The Russian human rights organization
  3. “Center of Civil Liberties”: The Ukrainian human rights organization

The three peace prize laureates represent civil society in their home countries. All winners have for many years devoted their work in promoting right to criticize power and protect citizen’ fundamental rights. They have made an outstanding effort to document war crimes, human right abuses and the abuse of power. Together they demonstrate the significance of civil society for peace and democracy.
